About Chelimichenu Waterfalls
Chelimichenu Waterfalls, also known as Friendly Field Waterfalls, is a scenic and lesser-known natural spot near Kuppam in the Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, offering a peaceful retreat for nature lovers, photographers, and trekkers. Located in Kangundi within Ramakuppam Mandal, near the Andhra Pradesh–Tamil Nadu forest border, the falls can be found easily on Google Maps and remain open 24 hours a day with free admission, requiring no advance ticketing. The rainy season is considered the best time to visit, as the waterfall flows at its fullest and the surrounding greenery becomes vibrant. Visitors must trek roughly 0.5 km from the parking area to reach the site, and while the short trail enhances the adventure, it is not wheelchair accessible and can become slippery during monsoons. Since there is no public transport available, private vehicles such as cars or bikes are recommended, and due to patchy mobile signals in forested stretches, traveling in groups or with a local guide is advised for safety. With no nearby shops, visitors should carry sufficient water and food for a day trip, and as an eco-friendly reminder, everyone is encouraged to respect the natural environment and take back any plastic or waste to help preserve the beauty of this hidden gem.
