About Mallapakonda

Mallappa Konda refers to a scenic hill and sacred temple near Kuppam in the Gudupalle mandal of Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, uniquely positioned at the tri-state border where Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu meet. The hill is home to a 500-year-old Lord Malleswara Swami (Lord Shiva) temple that draws devotees from all three states, lending the site strong spiritual significance. Known for its sweeping panoramic views—especially striking at sunrise and sunset—Mallappa Konda has become a favored destination for weekend trips and road journeys, including from nearby Bengaluru which lies about 100 km away. Visitors can drive up a newly constructed winding road that leads close to the summit, followed by a short trek to reach the temple at the top, making the location appealing for a mix of devotion, sightseeing, and light adventure.
